Last week, I read an article in Religion Dispatches, an online newspaper that devotes itself to various viewpoints in covering religions, including mine. I don’t often agree with what is written, but it is very educational. This one was about the temple being built in Philadelphia.
In my first read of this article I was disappointed to see the name of the church inaccurately stated in the first sentence. The author had identified it as, “Church of Latter Day Saints.” I sent an email to the editor, pointing out the mistake. The editor acknowledged my “catch” in a brief response, and the article now contains the correct name.
I think it is important for members of the Church to stand up and make ourselves heard when we are misrepresented. Also, I am grateful to the editors for incorporating my comment.
